AC installation and replacement in Houston
A new system is the biggest HVAC purchase most homeowners make, and the install matters more than the brand on the box. A well-installed mid-range unit that is sized correctly will outperform a premium system that was guessed at.
Sizing comes first
We do a load calculation rather than matching whatever was there before. That accounts for square footage, ceiling height, insulation, window type and orientation, duct condition, and how many people live in the house. Replacing like for like just inherits whatever mistake the last installer made.
Want a ballpark before anyone quotes you? Our free AC size calculator factors in ceiling height and sun exposure, not just floor area.
Oversizing is the most common mistake we see. A unit that is too big cools fast, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull humidity out. You end up with a house that is cold and clammy, higher bills, and a compressor worn out early from constant starting and stopping. Bigger is not better in a humid climate.
What the install includes
- Load calculation and equipment selection, explained in plain terms.
- Line set evaluation, and replacement where the existing one is not suitable.
- Proper evacuation and vacuum before charging, verified on a micron gauge.
- Refrigerant weighed in to spec, then confirmed on gauges under running conditions.
- Electrical done right: correctly sized disconnect, breaker, and whip.
- Condensate drain and safety switch, plus a new pad where needed.
- Startup readings documented and handed to you.
R-32 and what is changing
The industry has moved from R-410A to R-32, which is more efficient and better environmentally. If your current system runs R-22, that refrigerant has not been produced since 2020 and what remains is expensive, which usually pushes the math toward replacement rather than repair.
Ductwork is part of the job
New equipment attached to leaking ducts in a 140 degree Houston attic will disappoint you. We look at the duct system as part of any replacement quote and tell you if it needs work, rather than discovering it after the fact.
Free estimate on a replacement
We will size it properly and quote the whole job, ductwork included.
